After 5 and a half years of captivity under the terrorist group Hamas, Gilad Shalit deserves a beer.  It turns out Shalit was seen out in Tel Aviv on Monday night – the same night Bono dropped in on the Israeli city – to enjoy himself with friends.

Perhaps appropriately, the excursion took place on the third day of the Jewish Passover holiday that commemorates the release of Israelite slaves from ancient Egyptian captivity. The week long celebration is referred to by many as the ‘Festival of Freedom.’

Shalit was the first Israeli soldier kidnapped by Palestinian terrorists since 1994 when he was abducted in 2006.  More than 5 years later, he was released by Hamas in exchange for 1,027 prisoners, who were collectively responsible for the deaths of over 500 Israelis.
