Mohammad Merah’s murder of three Jewish children and a rabbi in Toulouse, France, represented a “practical lesson in bravery,” al-Qaida forum moderator Abu Sa’d al-Amili wrote in a recent essay.

In the essay, titled “Lessons and Treasures from the Battle of Toulouse,” al-Amili calls for the formation of a new “school” of terrorism in the West, reported the Investigative Project on Terrorism.

Merah “will be an example and a role model for whomever is behind him among the Muslim youth in the West,” al-Amili writes, adding that the al-Qaida terrorist’s “message” is that “the route to jihad is open and available.”
