David Arquette Celebrates His Bar Mitzvah at Western Wall
Actor David Arquette, 40, who starred in the “Scream” movie series, celebrated his bar mitzvah at the Western Wall on Monday.
The former husband of “Friends” star Courtney Cox (they recently split) was in Israel to film an episode of “Mile High,” his show on the Travel Channel.
Arquette wore an all-white outfit, read a Torah portion, and donned tefilin, the Associated Press reported, marking his Jewish rite of passage 27 years after he turned 13 – the traditional age to receive a bar-mitzvah.
“He was very emotional, saying he was happy to be part of the chain of the Jewish people,” Shmuel Rabinowitz, the rabbi of the Western Wall said. “I’m very pleased to see a man who is returning to his roots.”
