JPost – Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas Tuesday renewed his call holding an international peace conference in Moscow and said negotiations were the only way to achieve peace with Israel.

Abbas, who was speaking in Bethlehem after meeting with visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin, said he requested Moscow’s help in the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons, especially those who were imprisoned before the signing of the Oslo Accords.

  • The Mother of All Meetings would be a reconvened NPT Conference to be held in Jerusalem on Monday Jan. 28th, 2013. Many birds could be killed with one stone, excuse the terrible metaphor. All nations could attend, including Iran. The Palestinians would also be invited of course. The Where; When; Why; Who; How; Cost; Duration; Intention; Flow and Format are all ready to be explained. The waves have parted somewhat and there is a window of opportunity for truly momentous things to happen on the geo-political stage. Trust, vision and courage are the most precious of all global commodities. All it will take now for this catalysing event to take place is the collective will.

    As the Baal Shem Tov replied when asked by a follower…

    “Where is a person ?”

    “A person is where his will is !”

    P.S. Sometimes I feel like I am bashing my head against a brick wall with my requests, but I am comforted by the story of Jericho (Joshua 6:1-27). Psalm 138 also comes to mind however. The pearls section…
