24 people were awarded the Israel Defense Prize on Monday, at a ceremony inside the presidential home of Shimon Peres, including a senior female officer from Israel’s security apparatus.
According to Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, the female officer went on stage to accept the award from Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Shimon Peres, and her achievement “moved” many members of the audience “including Mossad chief Tamir Pardo”
None of the names of the 24 people awarded the annual prize are made available to the public, and with the exception of the Iron Dome rocket defense system, the projects and technological advancements which garnered awards are kept secret as well.
