Jewish up and coming boxer Cletus ‘Hebrew Hammer’ Seldin scored a dramatic third round knockout against Chicago’s Carl “The Assassin” McNickles last night at the NYCB Theatre in Westbury New York. The win takes his record to a perfect 9-0-0 with a stunning 6 knockouts, a statistic that is practically unheard of in modern era Jewish boxing.

Boxing blog, Boxing News 24 described the fight in detail: “Bombing away from the opening bell much to the delight of the fight fans, Seldin and McNickles battered each other to the head and body for the first two rounds.

Landing a crushing right hand in the third, Seldin drilled McNickles to the canvas, however the game spoiler beat the count. Moments later Seldin closed the show in style, dropping McNickles for good later in the stanza.”

In an exclusive interview with The Algemeiner earlier this year, Seldin shared details regarding his upbringing, and described the Jewish element of his persona, saying, “I wear a Star of David on my trunks and my jacket, just like the old Jewish fighters, and on the back of the jacket it says ‘Remember the Masada.'”

Seldin often fights in Long Island, and Boxing News 24 describes him as a “Long Island fan favorite.”

The pugilist posted a video of  last night’s knockout on his Facebook page adding simply, “Hamma time last night…..” The clip can be viewed below.
