18 year old IDF soldier Yosef Partuk was killed today.

An Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldier, 18-year-old Col. Yosef Partuk, was killed Tuesday as the conflict between Gaza and the Jewish state continued.

A reserve Armored Corps IDF officer was also injured near the Gaza border. The IDF announced Partuk’s death not long after six people were injured when a rocket struck an apartment building in the city of Rishon LeZion. The top floors of the building were burned.

Also on Tuesday, one Israeli was injured from rocket attacks in Ashkelon and several people were injured in Ashdod. One grocery store was completely destroyed, according to the Jerusalem Post. Gaza terrorists fired 20 rockets at Beersheba, but the Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted at least 11 of those. A bus and a car were damaged, but no one was injured.

  • I read a letter from a father to a soldier to my congregants friday night and Saturday since I have different groups and I emailed the letter before Shabbat for them to think about it. We had an amazing discussion at both services.. A number of the NON ORTHODOX RABBIS found it convenient to embarass me publicly. for sharing it with them on a rabbinical site. See THE LETTER IN THE Jewish Press. It cautions the son to be careful not to put his life on the line and die because he is overcautious about harming civilians. This is war and people on both sides dies, unfortunately that includes children. We need a cease fire immediately for the sake of all.
