Tech giant Apple is opening a new research and development center in Israel later this year, according to a report in the Israeli business publication Globes.

Apple was able to successfully hire a slew of employees from Texas Instruments when that company began laying off workers last year, and is now satisfied with its potential workforce. The website The Next Web had reported that competition from Intel was threatening Apple’s plans, but Globes reports that Apple was apparently able to nab 100-150 employees to staff the new development center.

This will be Apple’s third research and development center in Israel. It already operates centers in both Haifa and Hertzliya.
