A video from 2006 has surfaced showing the current chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party, which easily holds the most seats in Egypt’s Parliament of any one party and has strong ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, calling for the destruction of Israel. The speech, which came during the Lebanon War, was posted by The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
Below is a transcript of the comments made by Sa’d Al-Katatni courtesy of MEMRI:
Today, we express the true will of the people, when we say: No to the aggression, no to the destruction of Lebanon, no to the destruction of Palestine, yes to the destruction of Israel. We say: No to Arab impotence. If the governments are incapable – the peoples are ready. Open the gate of Jihad for us, so we can unite with our brothers in Palestine and in Lebanon.
