Israeli border police and the IDF foiled a drug smuggling attempt from Egypt into Israel of more than 350 pounds of marijuana, Israel’s Channel 2 reported Wednesday, citing the IDF.

The smugglers used a truck much like the ones being used by construction workers building the security fence along the Egypt-Israel border, being built in large part to dissuade such smugglers.

The superintendent of the operation told Channel 2 that the truck driver was arrested, as were three others, on suspicion of drug smuggling.

He added that since the beginning of 2013, security forces have thwarted the smuggling of 451 pounds of hashish, more than 55 pounds of cocaine and 44 pounds of heroin-type drugs.
