Israel is on high alert, fearing that the Lebanese terror organization Hezbollah may have built an underground tunnel into the Jewish state, Lebanese security sources disclosed to The Daily Star late Monday.

A senior security source told the website that Israel, citing the recent discovery of two tunnels from the Gaza Strip, is increasingly worried that Hezbollah might have established a passage connecting south Lebanon to northern Israel.

Israeli concerns prompted a survey  of the village of Metula, located near the southern Lebanese village of Kfar Kila, the source said.

Over the past 2 weeks, the Israeli military has also carried out excavation work in various areas along the border, the source told The Daily Star.

Once Israel has discovered a tunnel, she should place sensors in it and when their are indications of activity approaching Israel, it should be blown up. Bodies should not be allowed to be recovered.
