A disappointed U.S. Postal Service customer was surprised to learn that a package intended for Saudi Arabia was delivered to an address in Israel, according to the USPS official Twitter feed.

At 4:43 pm, the customer, tweeting from the handle “@ Fantasy_soso,” whose profile is mostly in Urdu and who sometimes tweets passages from the Koran, tweeted a request to USPS to help locate his package.

@USPS hello my paracel No.LC039312463US not departure to Saudi arabai for long time please inform me why?,” the disgruntled sender said.

Within fifteen minutes USPS responded with a detailed update: “@fantasy_soso it’s showing that the package was delivered in Israel today. Was it supposed to go to Israel or Saudi Arabia? – cb”.

@USPS my adress in saudi arabia not israel. please make sure and inform me?,” the sender replied. USPS then confirmed that the package was indeed in Israel and advised the customer to call the company’s help line.

USPS tracking data shows that after three failed attempts the package was delivered in Israel on December 31, 2013 at 2:20 pm.

@USPS No way to re-send it to Saudi Arabia?,” the customer finally asked.

Israel and Saudi Arabia have no formal diplomatic relations.
