JNS.org – “For Jerusalem to be ours the Muslims must love it as the Jews do. Unfortunately, many Muslims do not see just how important Jerusalem is to Islam and to our culture,” Islamic Jihad leader Ramadan Shalah said last week in Tehran at an Islamic conference.
The Palestinian terrorist group’s leader referenced the popular Naomi Shemer song Jerusalem of Gold by saying, “The infidel Zionist army sang a song when it captured Al-Aqsa mosque. The song is called Jerusalem of Gold and there is not one person in the cursed Zionist entity who does not know the words of that song.”
Shalah stressed that every Muslim in the world must learn Jewish culture and the relationship of the Jews to Jerusalem to understand why Israel is constantly working to “Judaize” the city. Shalah strongly condemned U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s efforts to seek Palestinian recognition of a Jewish state in a peace agreement.
“It is dangerous,” he said. “Such a recognition implies that in fact we Muslims recognize that Jerusalem is Jewish and Al-Aqsa mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre are parts of the Zionist narrative. Do you know any Muslim that would agree to such a thing?”
