George Galloway, the British parliament member who was expelled from the Labour Party in 2003, invited a libel suit when he brazenly slandered Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni on a television show he recorded in England, then broadcast internationally on Iran’s Press TV, according to blogger Elder of Ziyon.

On the program, Galloway falsely claimed that Livni bragged in a book she supposedly wrote about sleeping with “hundreds of people” during her service as a Mossad agent.

According to Elder of Ziyon, Livni has responded to similar false allegations in Arab media that while in the Mossad she had slept with prominent people to gain information. What she actually said was that she was never asked to sleep with the enemy, the blogger reported.

The Arab media continued spinning the lie, which widened into a concrete accusation that Livni slept with Palestinian Authority negotiators Saeb Erekat and Yasser Abed Rabbo, presumably during the 2007 peace talks between Israel and the PA.

Israeli Firm to Sell HSBC Tower in New York for $855 million

Israel's Property and Building Corp said on Sunday it agreed to sell the HSBC Tower building in midtown Manhattan for...

The blogger pointed to a comment from one of his readers suggesting that legal action could be effective against Galloway. “This is great! The moron said it in England, which has nasty libel laws,” the commenter said. “And in English common law, impugning a woman’s chastity is defamatory per se. She can nail Galloway to the wall in court.”

In January, Galloway spent another episode of his show defaming Ariel Sharon in honor of his funeral.

Last year, he said, in another episode, that Israel supplied al-Qaeda with chemical weapons used to kill scores of Syrian civilians. When Galloway was called out on that statement in the British House of Commons, he denied ever having said it, even though other MPs had watched him say it on a recording of his program.
