JNS.org U.S. warplanes have begun bombing terrorists from the jihadist terror group Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) Friday on order by U.S. President Barack Obama, who said the U.S. must act to prevent “genocide.”

ISIS terrorists have been brutally executing nonbelievers, such as Christians and Yazidis, in the areas they have taken over, including via beheadings and crucifixions.

ISIS terrorists consider the Yazidis to be “devil worshipers” and have ordered them to convert or die. Tens of thousands of Yazidis have fled from areas taken over by ISIS and have gathered on a mountain, where they have limited access to food and water. In addition to the air strikes, the U.S. has is also dropping supplies to the refugees.

ISIS has already advanced as far a half hour drive from Irbil, which is the capital the Kurdish region of Iraq. The U.S. maintains a large consulate in Irbil with several thousand diplomatic and military staff as well as several American oil companies also operating in the region.
