JNS.org – Iran promised to accelerate the arming of Palestinians in the West Bank in retaliation for an Israeli spy drone that purportedly flew over its airspace, according to an Iranian military commander.
“We will accelerate the arming of the West Bank and we reserve the right to give any response,” said General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the aerial forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, in a statement posted on sepahnews.com.
The warning comes a day after Iran allegedly shot down an Israeli spy drone over the Natanz uranium enrichment site. An Iranian-owned Arabic news channel, Al-Alam, briefly aired a video of the destroyed Israeli drone. In the video, there were no clear indications that the drone belonged to Israel. The Israeli army declined to comment on the issue.
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Natanz is home to Iran’s main uranium enrichment site, housing more than 16,000 centrifuges.
