Terror group the Islamic State, otherwise known as ISIS, has apparently released a brief video portraying the beheading of captive American-Jewish photographer, Steven Sotloff, 31, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, The Associated Press, and the New York Times reported.
“Just as your missiles continue to strike our people, our knife will continue to strike the necks of your people,” ISIS said in the video message quoted by CNN Wire.”
The BBC reported that “White House Spokesman Josh Earnest said US officials were checking the reports.”
Entitled “A second message to America,” the video also threatened British captive, David Haines.
Sotloff went missing in Syria in 2013, but appeared in another video in late August that showed the apparent beheading of fellow US journalist James Foley, according to media.
