JNS.org – Jewish candidates from both major American political parties won races in Tuesday’s midterm elections.
Republican State Senator Lee Zeldin of Long Island, N.Y., won his House of Representatives race to become the only Jewish Republican in either legislative body. The former Jewish majority leader of the House, Eric Cantor, lost a primary election in June.
On the Democratic side, Jewish U.S. Sens. Al Franken (Minnesota) and Brian Schatz (Hawaii) were re-elected.
