Hailing from the town of Yafia in the Galilee, Father Gabriel Nadaf has garnered headlines in Israel and around the world for his efforts to recruit members of Israel’s Christian minority into the IDF. Propelled by the conviction that Christians face elimination across the Middle East, with the notable exception of Israel, where they enjoy full civil and religious rights, Nadaf is confident – as he told The Algemeiner in an interview last November – of meeting his goal to recruit 400 Christians into the IDF during 2015, up from 150 during the previous year.
