On the eve of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress the level of hysteria among American Jewish liberals has reached cascading proportions. From full-page advertisements in The New York Times to anguished columns in The Times of Israel expressions of outrage pour forth. They are furious lest an Israeli prime minister implicate them in such a heinous deed as warning against the imminent surrender of the Obama administration to Iranian nuclear ambitions.

All the usual suspects on the Jewish left chimed in. J Street released a petition with 20,000 signees protesting: “I’m a Jew. Bibi does NOT speak for me.” That self-identified “pro-Israel pro-peace” group also purchased a full-page advertisement in The New York Times warning that the Prime Minister’s speech would damage American-Israeli relations. Jewish Voice for Peace urged members of Congress to skip the speech, presumably lest they be contaminated by hearing something outside their comfort zone. Not to be outdone Tikkun declared: “No Mr. Netanyahu, we will not let you drag us into a proxy war for Israel against Iran.”

The following warning from similarly frightened American Jews resonates in memory: “Harm has been done to the morale and . . . to the sense of security of the American Jewish community through unwise and unwarranted statements and appeals which ignore the feelings and aspirations of American Jewry.” It might even include: “The State of Israel represents and speaks only on behalf of its own citizens and in no way presumes to represent or speak in the name of Jews who are citizens of any other country.” Ooops. Those were the words of American Jewish Committee president Jacob Blaustein, fifty-five years ago, in a letter to Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion. The Israeli leader had the temerity to request assistance from the American government for the fledgling state and urge  American Jews to make aliya. In the old Yiddish expression: “plus ca change plus c’est la meme chose.”

Entebbe: Are We Heeding the Lessons?

July 4th marks the 40th anniversary of the rescue of Israeli hostages at Entebbe. Today we are surrounded by international terrorism....

Now it is Netanyahu’s turn to heighten the anxiety of anxious American Jews. Rabbi Rick Jacobs, president of the Union for Reform Judaism, criticized his plan to speak to Congress as “a bad idea” because it might make Israel a partisan issue in American politics. “That is something we in the Jewish community cannot afford,” he added. Prominent Jewish organization leaders chimed in. Anti-Defamation League director Abe Foxman labeled the controversy “a tragedy of unintended consequences.” Seymour Reich, former chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish American Organizations lamented that Netanyahu was splitting Congress and dividing the American Jewish community.

Even former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich, not otherwise noted for his pronouncements as a Jew, chimed in. He dutifully informed Israelis: “You should know that the new-found alliance between your Prime Minister and our Republican Party, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, and some wealthy right-wing Jews here (such as billionaire Sheldon Adelson), is poisoning the relationship between Israel and the United States.” The shanda of speaking to Congress “foists your own domestic politics onto ours,” especially “the right-wing radicalism that has taken hold in Israel – a radicalism that rejects a ‘two-state solution’ and continues to build new settlements on the West Bank.”

Frustrated and infuriated American Jewish liberals, like their outraged conservative anti-Zionist predecessors, seem terrified at the prospect of an Israeli prime minister saying something to an American audience about protecting Jews. Dual loyalty always has been, and remains, the unspoken curse of Diaspora communities. American Jews – especially, these days, of a leftist persuasion – must beat a hasty retreat from Israel lest it sabotage their privileged American status and penchant for moral preening.

But Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel issued a bold challenge to the Netanyahu naysayers when he announced his intention to attend the Prime Minister’s Congressional warning about the horrific dangers of a nuclear Iran. In an ad placed in The New York Times by Orthodox rabbi Shmuley Boteach, Wiesel requested support “for keeping weapons from those who preach death to Israel and America.”

Who knows better than Elie Wiesel that one Holocaust is enough?

Ifselie wiesel believes Nutayahoo speaking before congress will prevent another holocaust he is another example of jewish political stupidity. in fact the mixture of arrogance and stupidity of Nutanyahoo that will be the final straw. from now on antisemitism will gradually become mainstream and jews, like in france, will realize only israel is a safe place, for now. long term, if israel continues its strategy of despising the palestinians and arabs, once us support ceases israel will also collapse.

The tragic reality is there is no safe place for jews, there never will be.

  • defiantjewess

Obama is a wretched Jew hater, and he has made it so that no Jews can be part of the Democratic party. He has made Israel a partisan issue herein the states. His divisiveness is appalling. Jews need to pressure Congress reps to stop this. I will contact Debbie Wasserman Shultz this week. Hoping to meet her when in DC

jews insulate themselves too much because any criticism of jews they label as antisemitism and because the jewish lobbies can ruineany career many who have legitimate concern about jewish behaviour, such as beinc more loyal to israel than to the countries they earn a living many are turning anti jewish in silence waiting for the moment.

jews seem to think that having influence “in the palace” (politicians) they are safe. they should know their history show princes only have power because of support of their peoples. if the turn on the jews, they always do, the prince will too. the political stupidiy of the jews will be, again, their downfall. it is their script

  • Iran the destabilizing factor in the Middle East and beyond..

    Terror in the nuclear age
“Let me explain to you what we – all of us -are up against. Classic warfare is fundamentally a contest of wills fought to impose so much stress on the enemy that he loses the will to fight. A war of terror has the same intent, but with a singularly insidious twist: the enemy can be anybody, anywhere. He is without uniform or identification. His targets are random. His weapon is fear. He knows no constraints. He comes in all guises, often in the dress of his victims. He seeks to shatter nerves and break morale by flaunting the impotence of the authorities to protect their people. He uses his own women and children as his shield. He seeks to goad the defender into ever-harsher counter measures so as to stoke the general hate. He goes all-out to sow despair and to brutalize the agitated hearts of the other side. And in so doing, he strives to corrupt the defender’s military professionalism and discipline through combat stress, demoralization, fatigue, boredom and overkill, the very things we have been talking about. Well” – this in a final arpeggio – “no enemy is going to brutalize our hearts, nor corrupt our military professionalism and discipline.
Do you want prevent nuclear terror? Vote for nuclear free Iran.
A terrorist state must not be permitted to possess nuclear capability.
When Israel takes defensive action for its survival. Israel would rather be condemned for its actions as a live Israel than eulogized as a dead Israel.

I am a week late to this party. Nevertheless, I will attempt a brief diagnosis of Euro-Communism and its fascination for so many Jews since Karl Marx. First, Marx convinced Europe’s intellectuals that his hypothesis that a greedless variety of humanity would emerge from dialectics if only the wealthy could be suppressed. This was in answer to Adam Smith and to Darwin’s Natural Selection. Marx was convinced that dialectics trumped both. To be a member of the avaunt garde, an intellectual had to espouse Marx, and Jews, above all, cherish an intellectual identity. The trouble was that dialectics was a delusion that never had any effect on evolution, certainly not in any Communist society (where corruption of bureaucrats is the most prominent feature). Even after the collapse of the Soviet economy in 1991, the dream of left wing persisted unto the occupation of Wall Street, symbolizing the Left’s plan to save Western society, this as Islam was marshaling its resources to spread the power of sharia law by jihad. As we progress into the Nuclear Era it is growing obvious that all forms of delusion are a luxury that humanity cannot sustain.

  • American

Iran has every right to have nukes, just like the 200 nukes Israel currently has. 🙂

    • Mike P.

      Commentator who calls himself “American”:

You are in danger of hating the Jews more than you love your own children…when Iran says that America is the Great Satan, they mean it; you are selling out your own children in order to pursue your anti-Semitic mental defect.

      • Mike P.

        Also, technically, you are wrong.

Israel has the right to whatever nukes it may have as it never was a signatory to the IAEA, whereby a country voluntarily relinquishes its right to a nuclear weapons program in exchange for international assistance in building a nuclear power plant for civilian purposes.

Conversely, Iran is a signatory and is therefore bound, under international law, unlike Israel.

      • American

I like Jesus Christ, last time I checked he was Jewish. There goes your dumb theory. 🙂

        • Brocks

Oh… So it’s dead Jews you like. No wonder you have no trouble with an apocalyptic, 13th-imam seeking, suicide bomber campaigning mullocracy getting nuclear weapons. I mean, it’s not just jews that they wish to kill, but we will excuse your short-sightedness in this case.

Nonetheless, they do not have a right… They gave up any so-called right by signing the NPT. That’s why so many recognize the misguided nature of the existing negotiations – they clandestinely violated previous agreements and then openly flaunted their non-acquiescence after their breaches were discovered. In other words, they cannot be trusted.

Also, while you like to enlighten us to your knowledge of Israeli nukes – assuming that it is truly the world’s worst kept secret – note that every Arab country would know that too. Yet it is the POSSIBILITY of Iran acquiring nuclear weapons that is driving Arab countries throughout the middle east to initiate their own nuclear programs (see Saudis, Emiratis and Egyptians). While you have every right to share your opinion, I do not think you have the right to make us all dumber for hearing it… So no more questions for you. You’re referencing Jimmy Carter, coupled with your professed likening of Jews based on your affinity for one that lived 2000 years ago, gives us all the answers we need.

          • American

I also like the refuseniks, and Neturei Karta are my pals too. 🙂

    • How do you know how many nukes Israel has, if any, did you count them?

      • American

President Jimmy Carter has publicly spoken about them. Others have also spoken about this. Any more questions? 🙂

  • Mel

Obama was terrified of Netanyahu speaking, because he couldn’t bear the voice of truth. The more he tried to supress-prevent the speech, the more frightened he looked and the more one had to wonder. Bibi’s speech was a breath of fresh air, as the truth always is. It showed the emperor to be without any clothes. I’m ashamed of those in the Jewish community who preferred to go along with the President, not to risk their comfortable existence. The puzzle of these liberal Jews, who through the cowardice of so many of them, gave their liberalism a sordid name. Many were thoroughly shameful, though some of them did stand out for their strength and conviction in supporting the speech. May God bless Ellie Weisel for coming to Congress. And Netanyahu for the tremendous burden he has to carry in these times of growing darkness. Bibi showed such awesome courage in speaking. He made me feel proud to be Jewish.

  • Paul

    The argument has been hijacked.
The question is not if Israel should fight by every means to warn of Iran’s intentions. I think there is no Israeli, or american, who thinks Iran should be allowed to get a bomb.
The question is only, if the best way to achieve this goal is by flying in the face Obama Administration. Us Israelis have a proven history of winning the battles but losing the wars politically. Could supposedly smart Israelis not have found a more effective, less damaging way to try influence what looks like a bad deal ?
As far as the dividing of US public opinion is concerned – even the Israeli public opinion is divided. The right wingers (who tend to think emotionally) feel that Hertzog should have joined the effort, while more rational thinkers view this as inviting Herzog to help Israel shoot itself in the leg.

You could have said that in the late 1930’s about Winston Churchill!

  • Those American “Jews”, had they lived in Nazi Europe between 1939 and 1945, would have been on the trains to Auschwitz yelling ” I am not guilty of being Jewish ” while they line up at the crematoriums and gas chambers. Those self hating stupid ignorant American Jews deserve to be hated by the rest of us Jews who survived the Holocaust and lived to tell about it.”They were lucky their forefathers escaped Europe before they were exterminated and came to the United States, not feeling the fear and antisemitism like their families that stayed behind.
Netanyahu DOES speak for all of us whether you like or not. For the ignorant Jew as well who thinks Obama first. The majority in this country who are Catholic will throw you under the bus just because they hate you whether to ignore Netanyahu or speak up as a Jew.
We dont need your kind anyway. Keep your stupid hateful harmful opinions to yourselves.

      Awesome respond. Totally agreed!
      That’s exactly how it is.

Excerpt from the text of Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s full page ad in last Saturday’s NYTimes.

… In 1994, as a member of President Clinton’s National Security team, Susan Rice stood by the horrific
genocide in Wanderer over 800,000 men, women and children were hacked to death in the fastest slaughter of human beings ever recorded. …

Its a shame that the good Rabbi Boteach did not see the Jan 26, 2015 Haaretz article by Yon Auron citing the apology of Shimon Peres for the Israel enabled genocide of Rwanda and Serbia. …

Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres had broken the the arms embargo during these genocides, supplying arms to Serbia and the Hutus during the genocides. So not all the Tutsis were hacked to death, thanks to the modern arms that Israel sold to the Hutus.

Sheldon Adelson contributed a million dollars to the 2012 failed campaign of Rabbi Boteach for congress and probably
underwrote most of the Rabbi’s full page NY Time’s ad, just as he pays for Hayom, Israel’s largest daily, a Netanyahu mouthpiece.

Ihope Hayom is more careful than the Rabbi with how they spend Adelson’s millions.

Many of the young and other Jewish liberals have not experienced or gone through the intense hate, torture and death of their forbearers and feel safe and secure in the US. I hope that doesn’t change but it may be an awakening for many to delve into Jewish history for a vivid picture of the past and maybe the future.

  • Gabrosvic

What is wrong with these Jews being scared?
    scared of what?
our President is very intelligent, knowledgeable and knows better than to oppose Obama or creates any disturbance with the American public.
he has no choice but to voice how scared we are with a nuclear Iran, after all they are the biggest financier of terrorism in the world, even the other gulf countries fear them and it will take no time for them to want to become nuclear to. so why a re people crucifying Benjamin for a speech I am sure if not correct will cost him his career.
wake up and stop being afraid of being pro active rather than having to be reactive in not so far future

Being Jewish and antisemitic are not mutually exclusive. For the antisemitic Jews, Israel does not represent the Jewish people!!! But “they” represent no one! It cannot just be about genes only.
To some extent it reminds me of the Shia vs Sunnis conflict minus the violence.

those american jews are no better than the europeans who appeased the nazis. they beleive that if they behave like rats leaving a sinking ship they can excape the fate and dange facing Israel. but what happened to the appeasers? I predict that the first ones to suffer for their kapo behavior will be those US kapo Jews. They seek to distance themselves at the expense of others but they will be the cause of anti Israelism which will devolve as it has already into anti semitism. Those kapo jews are creating the anti semitism they will have to suffer. The most anti semitic Jews are in the colleges and it is Jews in the colleges who are suffering the most anti semitism.
I notice that these kapo Jews do not even mention the issue of Iran but only the issue of upsetting their churlish and petulant lord and master.

The Jewish left has no memory and cannot see what is happening all over Europe. Netanyahu’s speech is too important not to be heard. The Jews are already on the chopping block and some of our own are helping to speed anti-semitism on its way.

Our own government pushed them under the bus from the beginning of this administration.

  • Well they wouldn’t they? Don’t know their backsides from their elbow’s! No one in their right mind would back the so called Palestinians and as for starving refugees, what a load of old bunkham. The Arabs infiltrated Israel in droves since Israel is the only nation in the Mid east with a modicum of sense for getting a country on its feet. Pally’s wanted jobs, infrastructure, health care and education. I ask which middle east Islamic nation provides a lower middle class/middle class economy?

  • Yale

The real issue here is that Obama has sought to inject partisanship into the US-Israel relationship, as he has done in virtually every other issue he has addressed. To see why this is the case, just consider where we would be if Obama had chosen to go and listen to Netanyahu instead of throwing this red herring issue into the Iran nuclear weapons negotiations. here, like in every other issue, it’s “my way or the highway”.

The objective has been the traditional objective of those who would undermine a democracy: divide and conquer. Those Democrats who boycott the speech to curry favor with Obama are engaged in “My President, right or wrong.” The great irony here is that many of these same Democrats would be appalled by the idea of “My country, right or wrong.”

This sort of behavior is how democracies slide into dictatorship.

    • Cynthia

I would add to that: Obama isn’t a Christian, he is a Muslim. As we are told, “watch what he does instead of what he say’s” Everything that he does points to this conclusion, so i’m not surprised that he would take offense that Bibi is invited to speak to Congress. He hates the thought, and if he was asked before hand Bibi would not have had the opportunity to educate most of the people who have no clue about the situation in Israel.

  • Monty Pogoda

    Liberal Jews hate being Jewish.

  • Michel Naumberg

How many Holocaust do we need till these stupid people start facing reality. If they think that that speech will have any detriment to the Israel-American relationship think again. The only ones who think so or act so are the ones already against Israel and I am ashamed that so many Jews are in that camp

Amazing how the leftist/liberal mind works. Certainly they are an undesirable side-effect & are obviously the brain damaged results of the hippie drug culture. Can those creatures be considered human?

  • Are American Jews cringing cowards or self hating quislings, or both ?

  • American Jews have for far too long held liberalism and
the Democrat Party as the prime value in their political
lives. This and the old saying: “you can take the Jew out
of the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of the
Jew” explains why too many American Jews have an irrational
fear supporting beleaguered Israel. Obama just takes pre-
    cedence over everything.

  • ELIE WIESEL supports the speech , so do I, and so should every Jew,and every person on this Planet. This is about, stopping a bloodthirsty homicidal regime acquiring nuclear bombs, ithey already have , ballistic rockets to deliver them any were in this world. For the last 20 years ,Iran’s whole petro dollar economy was spent on financing it’s proxy armies HAMAS and HEZBOLLAH and on armaments, while its population suffered in squalor. Massive amount of Iranian weaponry is given to terrorist movements in Syria, Irak Sinai peninsula Yemen,Libya and all over Africa,
Is the Obama administration blind to this ??

  • Julian Clovelley

Your writer’s fulminations against the more progressive members of the Jewish community are far more venomous and inaccurate than any recent rants I have seen described – often erroneously – as “antisemitism”

One could tear this garbage apart sentence by sentence – but why go further than this one “They are furious lest an Israeli prime minister implicate them in such a heinous deed as warning against the imminent surrender of the Obama administration to Iranian nuclear ambitions.”?

That is an appalling misrepresentation of a wide diversity of views relating to the wisdom and possible content of Netanyahu’s speech – basic straw man tactics which should be beneath any academic. It is also demonstrably impotent a pronouncement. The real question is what is to be done to bring about proper talks in the region? I doubt we will hear anything about that

I couldn’t care less about the speech. I think it is inappropriate during an election period, impolite to the Administration, arrogant and unwise. But after a cup of coffee and a doughnut or two I am sure the sane amongst us will be able to forget about it for the most part and wish Bibi a safe ride home, and a happy and long retirement, hopefully commencing soon.

The American people are fully aware of the dangers of potential uranium enrichment in Iran, but they are equally aware that it is entitled to have a civilian nuclear program. There are over 430 electricity generating reactors worldwide – If Netanyahu were to bomb reactors in every country he doesn’t like, or which has a sizeable portion of the population that doesn’t like him, he’d be a bit busy

So what’s there to talk about? There is nothing new to say – its already known. America’s media have fully reported all these matters already

In terms of determined militancy all he can do is demand a military first strike. It is rather rude to demand that of your host nation. As to what he can offer – all he can offer that is substantial is shutting down the west Bank settlements and ending the Occupation and Blockade. He could offer to stop slagging off the UN, the application of the Geneva Conventions, the judgements of International Legal experts, and international charities. He could inform Congress that Israel under his leadership will ratify the International Criminal Court. He could also offer an open academic multiple University based inquiry into the true nature and facts of Jewish history – the beginnings of a much needed Jewish Reformation, no less.

The real danger of the speech is that Netanyahu will be seen as attacking the intelligence of America by stating the bleedingly obvious. Worse still the Zionist extremist view he might present might be the last straw for decades long supporters of Jewish and Israeli people. One can only stand so much belligerence, stupidity, arrogance, self destructiveness and rudeness from a nation denying a neighbour statehood and occupying and bombing its civilian population. One can only observe so much outrageously concocted justification on the basis of a battery of obvious mythology – of history, cultural preservation, uniqueness and origin until one feels forced to cry “bosh!”. Whatever happened to the simple justification for sympathy of the UN Partition Resolution

That delivery of a potential divisive last straw is a bad mistake – very bad. Israel’s support will always be unstable so long as Israel is outside of its borders. Mouthing off in front of Congress will only make that situation worse. The converted – like the article’s writer will no doubt approve and clap like trained chimpanzees. The opposition will question continuing support for what could be seen as a warmonger, and the progressive in the Jewish community will express understandable distress.

People like myself will finish their doughnuts and coffee, shrug their shoulders, and go for a beer if its late enough, hoping there is no repetition of this silliness..

Might even offer up a prayer – “G-d save these people from their enemies, their friends and themselves”

    • Emanuel

” One can only stand so much belligerence, stupidity, arrogance, self destructiveness and rudeness” I agree you are totally belligerent!

    • Paul

Since you try to come over as a rational debater:
does it make sense that Iran is spending such a tremendous fortune of money, at the expense of its own citizens, just to bring them cheaper nuclear energy ? They are selling immense amounts of oil – they could use that oil for their energy needs. Do they really have to develop for PEACEFUL objectives?
Why don’t you climb off your high horse, rise above your preconceived ideas, look beyond petty considerations and rationalizations to support your prejudice, and see what is really happening ?
The irony is, that the real threat of Iranian Nuclear abililty is against the moderate oil producers in the mddle east. Just the THREAT of nuclear power can make Iran the ruler of the middle east and in control of the energy suppky of most of the western world. The reason Israel is touted so much is to ensure that people like you will swallow their line because it is just more jew-arab conflict which the world would rather ignore. You are being used. You have been duped by very very devious people. Wake up

How quickly Robert Reich forgets: Not long ago, Democrats demonstrated their division and opposition over supporting the Jewish State of Israel and an undivided Jerusalem during the Democratic National Convention for a national television audience to witness. That failure of leadership didn’t come from “our Republican Party” – Democrats thought that one up all on their own. Res ipsa loquitur.

I am a Democrat and I voted for President Obama – twice! And today I must say that he did not deserve my vote. I remain a Democrat, but I must also say that I am ashamed of the attitude of some Jews who prefer to abandon Israel because of a slight risk that it might cause them some discomfort at home. Jews sometimes ask “What is good for the Jews? ” when confronted with a difficult political decision. What is good for the Jews is to be strong and and forcefully defend the interests of Jews everywhere and that means in Israel as well as in the Diaspora. There is no contradiction between Israel’s interests and ours as long as we stand staunchly together.

    Liberal Jews:
    Liberal first.
    Jewish last.
    Dead last.

No Mr. Netanyahu we will not let you drag us into a proxy war with Iran! Who is dragging who? It was the left wing nut cases who gave Obama free reign over this earth to initiate revolutionary wars at will with out congressional approval and it is the left wing lunatics who Allowed him to ride rough shod over the Iranian negotiations. The not so chicken Israelis have come home to roost so deal with it.

  • A nuclear Iran is a threat to America’s Middle East allies, Israel and the Arab states. Saudi and others have made this clear. A nuclear Iran will lead to an arms race among the Arab states who are as likely as Israel to be targets for Iranian missiles. Europe is also within range of Iranian nukes. No one should believe only Israel is concerned about Iran. The US Congress must have the final say on any US agreement with Iran.

  • It’s not uncommon for me to support the Jewish religion or the Jewish State. What isn’t as automatic is to voice my support of certain sectors of the Jewish population. In fact, I am openly hostile to organizations like J Street who operate under the guise of being pro Israel but in reality are as anti Israel as many of the Arabs. The political left is another group that I have some serious issues with. Regardless if it’s Friedman, Chomskey, Finkelstein or anyone else of this ilk, I have no respect for these people. Another group I find repulsive is people who dress in orthodox garb but are actively involved with the PLO or some other anti Semitic, anti Israel entity. In my opinion, all of these sectors operate under a warped rubric. Every Jew should be supportive of Judaism and Israel. This doesn’t mean you have to agree with everything Judaism or Israel prescribes. But, it does mean that people should be proud of who they are and never do anything that will be detrimental to either the religion or Israel. I am not an expert on Judaism or Israel. But, I make a honest attempt to learn about both and the more I learn and understand, the prouder I am to be Jewish and the stronger a supporter of Israel. The Jewish community needs to make a more concerted effort in having an open mind and heart and spend less time being indoctrinated in left wing ideology. Now is the time when the Jewish community needs to unite and stand strong against our adversaries ,be proud of who we are, and the morality both Judaism and Israel inculcates.

  • Those Arabs who danced on the streets when 3000 people have been killed on 9/11, now dancing and rejoicing the attack on Israel’s
PM Netanyahu from the democratic members of Congress and other prominent leaders of Jewish organisations, who shamelessly accusing PM for accepting invitation by the Speaker of the House.
PM came to America, the only real friend Israel have in all world, to talk of the danger to the State of Israel from Iran.
American Jews in fear for their privileged American status ready to submit Israel to destruction. During WWII war America didn’t care about Holocaust. The history is repeated. Remember American Jews! The blood of Israel could be on your hands7

  • The more you bad mouth the opposition, the more you show that you have nothing to offer as a candidate. A negative campaign is counterproductive.
A good candidate will promote his agenda to create a safe and secure Israel with overall economic growth that affects most Israelis, good medical and social programs. Provide a program to heal the divisiveness and promote unity. Show and practice honesty and integrity, promote Ethics, Accountability and Transparency.
Better education and mandatory education on a thorough Jewish History.
    YJ Draiman.

It is my belief that “their privileged American status and penchant for moral preening” is infinitely more important to American Jews than any connection to Israel.

In this crisis, in which the groundwork for a second holocaust is being prepared, the majority of American Jews have been, and will continue to be a hindrance.

  • Richard S. Resnick

Are these people crazy? Netanyahu wants to save Israel by trying to influence The Obama administration that they are screwing up the Worlds relationship with Iran by allowing them to build he bomb that could destroy Israel. Is that what you people want? Are you Nuts???

  • henry zerg

The leftists complaint with the P.M. Netanyahu speech is more than a penchant for moral preening. They know the speech will expose their support for the modern day equivalent of the Munich agreement that is being hatched up by Obama, Kerry, and Rice with the dictators of Iran.

  • Let’s face it. These Jews-in-name only, that is the so-called “Liberals” (a term they have transmogrified),
the Left, have another religion: LEFTISM! That ideology
precludes their true attachment to the religion of their
forebears. In short, they are JUIs, who are, perhaps, more
dangerous to the health and well being of Am Yisrael than
even the noxious neo-nazis and fascists marching in the main streets of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Let those who stand up for Israel, America, the World come and listen to the Churchill of our time, Benjamin Netanyahu on March 3. Despite the obstructionist tactics of the White House and is minions, even those promising to walk out in the middle of the speech, the speech promises to be ranked with FDR’s “nothing to fear but fear itself” and Churchill’s “blood, sweat, and tears.” Let’s hope that these words will carry over into actions that will preclude the match that strikes the start of WW III.

  • Peter Joffe

What has a nuclear Iran got to do with politics? Nuclear weapons in the hands of people who love death and preach death to others is a curse on all humanity and needs to be stopped. Everyone knows that Muslims call Israel the “Little Satan” and when it is blown away it will be the turn of “The Big Satan”, the USA and all of the west.
If we hide in the dark and hope for peace we are all likely to make up to a blinding flash as the last thing we will ever see and the dark ages will return.

  • Joseph Ozer

Elie Wiesel knows what he is talking about. We don’t need to be at “peace” with Iran.

  • Shlomo

I live in Dallas. Bibi speaks for me!!!!

  • Julie Koehler

Good! Americans stand with Netanyahu! & more American Jews than you imagine do too! We know who our friends are- and they aren’t in the present Obama administration!

  • rachel robinson

“I’m a Jew. Bibi does NOT speak for me.” Too bad they do not say who speaks for them. Maybe the Mullahs do. Maybe Obama does. Who knows? Those Jews do not consider themselves part of the Jewish nation. I wonder what they do consider themselves.

    • BH in Iowa

The PM speaks for them whether they like it or not. He is trying to save all our hides.

  • paul jeser

    YUP!

  • Jacqueline

Bibi speaks for me I am proud to be a Jew he is the Winston Churchill of our time. The American left better wake up!!
