In a new short video uploaded to his website, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei pledged to emerge victorious in any war against the U.S., Saudi-owned Al Arabiya reported on Wednesday.
In the 1:43-minute video, in Farsi with English subtitles, Khamenei warns the U.S. against launching a war against Iran, promising that America would be defeated if it did.
The clip, entitled “If any war happens”, opens with recordings of President Barack Obama saying that America could quickly neutralize Iran’s military if the need arose.
The soundtrack then switches to comments from a recent Khamenei sermon, in which he says that the U.S. would be humiliated in any war with Iran.
The video also aims to highlight Iran’s military readiness, featuring Iranian-produced Zulfiqar tanks charging to confront a ship labeled “USS Navy.” It later references the Second Lebanon War fought between Israel and Iran’s Lebanese terrorist proxy, Hezbollah.
Subsequent scenes show Iranian missiles blowing up American soldiers, and depictions of America’s wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Khamenei can be heard warning that “should any war break out,” the United States “would emerge humiliated from it.”
Meanwhile, in an interview on Iranian TV, the deputy commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hussein Salami, made a similar threat against the U.S., Israel’s Channel 10 reported.
“The majority of the United States’s [military] bases are within the range of our accurate ballistic missiles,” said Salami. “There is no limit to the number [of missiles] we are capable of firing if they attack us.”
