On the eve of Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, conservative political firebrand Ann Coulter expressed only a smidgen of regret for her now infamous Twitter tirade, in which she accused candidates at last week’s Republican presidential debate of pandering to Jews.

Among a string of angry messages lambasting the contenders’ focus on consensus issues, the pundit tweeted, “How many f—ing Jews do these people think there are in the United States?”

Offered the chance to reconsider her choice of words in an interview with The Algemeiner on Monday, her first with a Jewish publication since making the comments, Coulter yielded only that, “I would’ve used the ‘f—ing’ in a different part of the sentence.” And even that would only be in order to prevent her critics from “chopping up” her words and putting together a “bomb.”

Throughout the course of the interview, Coulter claimed she has been inundated with “fan mail from my Jewish fans.” She asserted that she is “a friend of Israel” and stands “against the enemies of the Jews.” She also said that while Jews “are usually so good with real estate,” Israel would do better if it relocated to the southern U.S. border. She called Donald Trump “the most Jewish” Republican candidate — although she has yet to hear any criticism from Trump’s Jewish daughter, Ivanka — and expressed interest in finding herself a Jewish doctor with whom to settle down.

US Jewish Groups Praise Tillerson’s Renewal of State Department Antisemitism Envoy

US Jewish groups reacted with praise and relief on Tuesday to the news that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is...

But she was repeatedly dismissive of the maelstrom of antisemitism that her comments have ignited on social media networks, and rejected criticism from Jewish groups across the political spectrum that her comments played into antisemitic stereotypes about Jews having undue influence on American policy to the detriment of U.S. interests.

She pooh-poohed attacks from liberals, whom she called, “utter frauds and hypocrites” that “are constantly sucking up to antisemites,” but she also refused to take criticism from Jewish groups that might usually be aligned with her politically.

The hawkish Zionist Organization of America blasted Coulter’s “appalling, anti-Jewish remarks which evoked the classic, antisemitic trope about Jewish manipulation of America for the purposes of supporting Israel at America’s expense,” and the Orthodox National Council of Young Israel condemned her “ill-advised decision to spew hatred by denigrating the state of Israel and the Jewish community.” Commentary Magazine editor and conservative commentator John Podhoretz tweeted simply, “Shame on you.”

But Coulter dismissed the condemnations from “groups I agree with” as coming from people who “were deceived” and are “unfamiliar with my work,” as well as others who “may just be naive.”

Confronted by The Algemeiner with the prevailing wisdom that her tweet played into the most grotesque Jewish stereotypes, Coulter deflected, saying, “I’m throwing their Israel-pandering right in with their Reagan-pandering and their abortion-pandering.” She also noted, “In fact, right after sending that tweet, I tweeted out: ‘or maybe it’s the evangelicals.'”

Asked if she would repudiate the antisemitic hordes that have gathered in her defense under the #IStandWithAnn social-media banner, she claimed, “I haven’t seen any of those tweets. I hear about them but… I don’t even want to acknowledge their existence. It gives them too much credibility.”

“But for one thing,” she added, “If, or to the extent that, they are antisemites, well, they are going to become familiar with my work, and they’re going to see I’m not.”

Despite the strong implication to the contrary of her initial tweet, Coulter insisted that support for Israel in the U.S. is by no means a Jewish issue, but “truly an American cause” and that she supports U.S. aid to Israel because “they are our only friend there.”

“I must tell you,” she said, “Jews are usually so good with real estate. You guys are in a bad neighborhood over there. You are surrounded by animals and lunatics.”

“Israel knows how to defend itself,” she added. “They have a nice fence.”

Coulter also took the time, as a devout Presbyterian, to clarify the Christian religious imperative to support Israel.

“It would be great if I could clarify this in a Jewish magazine,” she said, “this business about the reason Christians support Israel is because we want the second coming. No, no, no, not true. That’s equivalent to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.”

According to Coulter, the reason for Christian support for Israel, “as a matter of doctrine,” is because of the belief in the biblical mantra “that god gave Israel to the Jews.”

Perhaps walking back her 2007 radio show comments saying that Christians “just want Jews to be perfected” by converting to Christianity, she added, “I mean the existence of the Jews is proof of God in that sense.”

Asked if she had any message for the Jewish community in honor of Yom Kippur, which begins tonight, the unrepentant Coulter again flaunted the opportunity to express regret for her almost universally derided use of anti-Jewish language.

“Happy new year, and best wishes for an easy fast!” she said.

  • All of this is really strting toget on my nerves but if you think for onoe miniute I’m putting up with crazy, you can forget it! I want to know what is causing all this far-left baloney to start popping up on FOXNEWS all of a sudden. f it’s that stupid Saudi prince who is causingthis, he needs somebody to buy ouot his shares in FOXNEWS. He’s a security risk and I’ve said fromthe beginning when I found out he was involved with FOXNEWS. I even warned glenn beck to get out ofthere if that was going on. We now see the result of that.

  • a yid

I agree 100% with ZOA and Young Israel. How can one be a “friend” of Israel and tweet what she did? She is a hypocrite besides being a foul-mouthed jackass with zero sense of propriety or class.
Does anybody buy the line about “her Jewish supporters”? I don’t think so.
Perhaps the worst thing about this is contributing to the normalizing of antisemitic language. If Coulter can do it, then it opens up the door for others. Further, it is obvious that the tone of her tweet in fact amplifies the worst Jew-hating canard about “Jewish control” vis a vis supporting Israel.
She is supposed to be a smart person. Well, obviously, she is simply crass, arrogant and despicable. One hopes her book sales will drop and her career will take a sharp hit. Because no one should be able to get away with such foul mouthed vile.

  • Victoria Pagan

I agree with Anne Coulter on two points. First, Happy New Year and second, have an easy fast.

  • zadimel

    Where are all the comments?

  • Why so much attention to the person Ann Coulter? Because she has the largest cup-size of all female anti-Semites?

She belongs to the viciously anti-Semitic Christian sect of Presbyteranians. They are supporting pro-Palestinian NGOs with funds and political support.

    • Isaac Semaya

What would you expect from “THE QUEEN OF SCUM” with a mouth of turds.

    • jeff

your words are not truthful in many ways… besides Why are you so hostile. I have many disagreements with Coulter, but she is an important Conservative voice in support of Israel She is a tough speaking foul mouthed commentator, but she does not have a record of bigotry that i ever heard of. She will never back down to opposing forces; she is too strong for that! I understand that her statement sounds bad but she is Pro Israel. Save your strength for the real forces against Israel and the Jewish people.

  • adam

Her unprovoked outburst (which the question was about the world and how would use our jet to improve our standing in the world and not America as Ann claims so she is lying here and one of the candidates did mention Japan, South Korea, so it was relevant and Israel didn’t just come out of the blue. Her outburst caused me to look at her twitter as how could she say this and not take it down. It didn’t even make sense and upon dong this I uncovered some very disturbing groups that she is part of.

She writes for Vdare which is a white nationalist paper that doesn’t think highly of Jews or any minority for that matter. In fact they claim that Jews are the reason for our immigration problem as they are all big on this issue but in Israel they are racist towards blacks. Now I can understand Ann’s crazy comment that we need Israel in the South as Israel doesn’t have such limiting immigration policies and take Jews from different cultures but Ann is just believing the anti-Semitism of Vdare that Israel is racist and Ann wants this imitated in the USA. So even If Ms. Coulter was to apologize I would have to not want to associate myself with someone that works for Vdare. She only has defended conservative citizens council another racist group that she claims is not racist but everyone else doesn’t agree. SO she has been involved with these white nationalist groups and it is understandable why she has the views she has which are similar to the disgusting views of vdare.

Here are two links that were on Vdare that are loaded with anti-Semitism to see for yourself.

    • adam

Typo of “only” as the word should be also as she also has defended council of conservative citizens another white nationalist group.

  • Robert Davis

The reply to that maggot coulter is far more than she thinks. There are also a great many Americans and Evangelists who support Israel. Anyway coulter is not important she is just a maggot.

  • Jesse Joseph

Ann, why don’t you admit that you screwed up and go on with the many books I am sure you will write in the future. Your sales will go down if you keep saying horrible things about any people except the inhuman terrorists. Do not take after Trump who never apologizes to anyone. Good luck.

  • Wm. J. Levy

Ann Coulter isn’t the first low life to say Fng Jews. The sec. of State Robert Baker said the same thing. “Fng. Jews who cares about them. They didn’t vote for us anyway.” And I don’t remember one Jew or Jewish organization saying one thing.

The point is that Jews live here despite their wealth and access and success that has made this country great besides scientifically saving this nation we think of ourselves as GUESTS and GUESTS are always expected not to stay forever. I don’t think that way but the vast majority subconsciously do and we act that way.

Ann Coulter is a skinny abberation who should not be tolerated. If she said the same thing about blacks what do you think would have happened? First she would have never said that because she is terrified of blacks and their response. Jews get insulted and what do we do the ADL offers them seminar. Seminars dono’t work; action works.

Every Jew should write to Fox News and condemn her. But they won’t they’re too used to be insulted and being successful to fight for themselves.

Aren’t you tired of being hated? I AM.

    • Henry Paget-Lowe

There is no evidence in this tweet to the effect that Ann Coulter is anti-Semitic. Note that people can use the word “f*cking” merely in order to vent frustration, without necessarily meaning to convey a negative attitude towards the people or things picked out by the noun it modifies. Here’s an example. If, after a long wait, I say to a bartender “Give me a f*cking beer,” I have been rude, certainly. But have I expressed a negative attitude towards beer? Quite the contrary!

  • Demonstration against Ann Coutler Sunday Oct 11 1 PM 300 East 77th Street.

  • Jennifer

As a conservative Christian who loves Israel, I am disappointed in Ann Coulter. Her words contradict themselves. Just the use of the f-word produces suspicion that she is a God-fearing woman.

  • Matt

As you probably already know, conservatives don’t like liberals. The vast majority of Jews in the US are liberal. They don’t follow the Torah, or they make up their own Torah. It those Jews who are hated by conservatives.

Jews that actually follow the Torah are generally considered to be friends by conservatives. Therefore, Israel is generally considered to be good and most Jews in the US are bad.

Of course, most Jews in the US hate conservatives too. But apparently that’s OK. They use they influence and power against Christian conservatives in order to facilitate the transformation of the nation. And they have been successful too.

    • adam

Hey Matt. Do you feel the same way about Asians who tend to vote Democrat. Or you just pick on Jews who tend to vote Democrat although most are not looking to transform America it is simply not true .

    • jeff

      you get it

  • There are simply people, like this lady, who are too immature, impulsive and irresponsible to have twitter accounts.

  • Larinthian

Ann Coulter should be held to account for her anti Semitic tirades. With stature also comes responsibility. Perhaps a few hits to her wallet would make a difference. But, the reality is that regardless whatever punitive measures that could be taken, it will not remove the hatred and bigotry in Coulter’s heart. Coulter now joins the growing list of vial, close minded, lunatics, that have fallen from grace. I can tell you one thing, I will never purchase anything Ann Coulter is associated with. Coulter is a great example of someone who can be intelligent but still doesn’t know anything. People who share prominence in the world can choose to take two different paths. They can use their stature to do good or evil. We now know what side Coulter has chosen.

  • Barney Wainer

    Brava Ann!
As you said, “it would have been used somewhere in the sentence” as an expression of frustration and can not be assumed to be antisemitic though a bit clumsy as it was bound to touch a nerve somewhere.
You are a clear thinker: e.g., “”Elders of Zion” cf “2nd coming”, Christian support for Israel, US support an American cause and not a Jewish issue.

Barney – Jewish, Israeli and Zionist

  • I Would Not Want To Be In Her Shoes On JUDGEMENT DAY !!!
Behind That Angel Like Appearance Is Pure Evil …..Need I say more ….. NO !!!

  • Fred

Anne Coulter the American goddess can do nor say anything wrong. It is apparent once you get a microphone you are impermeable to the world around you. Coulter is no different from her above lofty position to see the damage she causes to the people at her feet, Jews. Does she care of course not she is misunderstood by the lowly mob. Coulter rules.

  • Tom

The Donald Trump defense strategy at play here. She’s a loathsome one.

  • Joe silverman

Ann I think you should go f..k yourself I will never watch or listen to you again

  • Heidi Rechteger

No matter what Anne Coulter says, she is absolutely an unrecalcitrant Jew hater (all two of her Jewish fans notwithstanding).

Remember when she said we have to perfect ourselves by becoming Christians? A family member had a run-in with her on an airplane, in which she nastily said to him “You’re one of those Jewish liberals, aren’t you?”

It is a fatal mistake for Jews to align themselves with the Christian Right in the U.S., for when all is said and done, they still believe we killed their Lord. Their support for Israel only lies in their hope that the in-gathering of the Jews will bring about the Apocalypse, after which Jesus will come back and we will all be expected to convert or go to Hell. They are NOT our friends.

    • adam

Upon further research after this unprovoked outburst I found out by going on her twitter feed that she writes fir vdare a white nationalist that promotes antisemitism. Also has defended She is more in the Ron Paul Pat Buchannan mode. She also defended council of conservative citizens another racist antisemitic group. So her problems are much deeper and both these groups vdare and ccc are viewed as racists and not mainstream thankfully although ac trying to make it so.

  • Ness Pessah

I suppose it would have been better in another part of the sentence yet I’m still with Ann. I will say a special prayer for her tonight to forgive her–if she has sinned! ,

Remembar, when asked in the interview sarcastically if Ann meant Jews “should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians then?
Coulter responded “Yeah… we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say.”

Note the connection with the term “perfected” so let me try to explain, as I understand:

Slow down buddies, you got it all wrong; you just didn’t understand what Ann was saying.

When she uses the term “F***ing Jews” she is using the phrase no different than if a Black man were to say or write “”F***ing niggers”. He passes — he’s Black.

Ann passes — she’s a “perfected Jew”. As a fundamentalist Christian–and they are the best supporters of Israel, and so is Ann .

The trouble is no one seems to have caught on the word “perfected” that she also used. That is a key term in Fundamental Christianity. Pentecostal fundamentalists will say of themselves “We are Jews! We are perfected Jews! “. What does that mean . It means a man who thinks he is a Christian all along was actually a Jew who has finally accepted Jesus as his Lord–in other words, he’s become a “perfected” Jew.

Christians are perfected Jews! Get it!

  • marlene

I threw her under the bus and told her to play in traffic. F—ing racist! When she said she supported Trump, I knew she was a trojan horse who would try to hurt him before the end. She’s too full of herself to care.

  • Shalom-Hillel

The most I would accuse Ann Coulter of is giving her critics ammunition. I’m still a huge fan. She is definitely not anti-Semitic. Liberals of course don’t need an excuse to hate her.

  • enufizenuf

For G-d’s sake, we don’t need Ann Coulter to be repentant! She’s a gruff-talking female with a strong sense of right and wrong and she’s a friend to the State of Israel. How much more do you want from people?!

  • Marco Redwolf

Coulter is a bomb thrower and she does what bomb throwers do.. Everything about her, what she says, how she says it and to who she says it is deliberate, self serving and designed to elect controversy. She is a total provocateur, an instigator. She is highly intelligent, and a polished , effective debater. In other words the perfect bomb thrower. She is also a narcissist who like our President will never will admit to a mistake, a lie or a stupid remark because she believes in her perfection and the stupidity of everyone else. Hmnn I think I just described a sociopath.

  • Hey, I’m Jewish.
I support Israel 100%. What more can she say. She keeps repeating she favors Israel. I am even (if I’m up to date with my dues, I have to check) a member of Zionist Organization of America, ZOA. She is very solid. I’d take 10 of her over all of those J Street traitors/morons.
She’s fine. She’s a friend to Jews and Israel. We shouldn’t create a problem where there isn’t one.
Anyone wanting to jump on someone, there are plenty of jerks, and some are Jewish who voted for the Iran deal. Thanks Jerry Nadler and Al Franken. You guys are Israel’s enemies as of the second you couldn’t turn down Obama,
All the best Ann. This Jewish guy is with you. And as far as I can, though you are not Jewish, I wish you a Happy New Year too.
    Mike From Brooklyn

    • jeff

good for you Mike… you understand.

  • SteveHC

It’s always hard to tell if she’s anti-Semitic or just plain crazy. In any event, a) I don’t know a “good Jewish doctor” who would touch her with a 10 foot pole (she’s just not “Jewish marriage material”), and b) I always thought we’d have been better off with Cuba or Puerto Rico as opposed to a sliver in the Middle East; if we know how to market the heck out of MOVIES we’d sure know how to do it for RUM 😉

  • Richard Lewis

Was Coulter being Coulter? Sarcasm to the nth degree. Was she saying “Don’t tell me your best friend is a Jew, don’t tell me you love Ronald Reagan, don’t tell me you will destroy ISIS and Obamacare” Those are trite overused hackneyed.
Was she saying if you are serious then tell me how you will take down Israel’s enemies, fix the economy, keep America safe? Tell me concrete plans not meaningless slogans.
The Republican debate was more cat fighting and bickering than substance and in ill chosen words Coulter mocked them all.
It wasn’t anti-Semitism; it was sneering at foolish nonsense.

  • R.S. Wasserman

In my lifetime I have met and heard anti-Semites. I know
anti-Semites. Ann Coulter is no anti-Semite.

  • There seems to bea common communal disease with Talking Heads, Elites, politicians and fools I general that apologizing for a stupid remark is a no no. Yes, there is that individual who is usually a spineless gutless coward who puts their foot so far down their throat that they flock to the mic to repent and ask for forgiveness. In reality, the foregivene is about getting caught.

Like Ms Coulter’s legion of work. This time her ego has gotten the best of her. I truly believe she is not Anti-Semetic, but her stupid use of the f word and the context it was used shows that even a smart person can act and speak stupid.

  • Patti Zentara

Since Ann is not a Jew, why do you expect an apology on Yom
    Kippur?

You are not just asking for an apology, you are telling her to
follow rules made specifically for Jews today.

I would prefer you request all Jews in name only, to get
with the specics of Yom Kippur and all Jewish
    holidays.

This is not a special day to point fingers outward but look
into our own souls. Tell me if I am in error, please!

Ann will apologize when she gets the impact of her statements,
Do you want an apology today from the Ayatolkah, too?
He threatened to destroy Israel, after all

But her “f***ing Jews” tweet was ill-considered and obnoxious.

She needs to own up to that and move on.

  • DockyWocky

Coulter, while sometimes rash, ain’t anti-Jewish like the schmuck in the white House. She just expresses things that a lot of people sometimes feel. That doesn’t make them an enemy. Just using the F-bomb is enough to make me think she’s getting frustrated by the inaction of Jews against the liberal, muzlim-loving Democrats. She ain’t alone.

Message for Caulter written by a NON-JEW: All European life died in Auschwitz
The following is a copy of an article written by Spanish writer Sebastian Vilar Rodriguez and published in a Spanish newspaper on Jan. 15, 2008.
I walked down the street in Barcelona , and suddenly discovered a terrible truth – Europe died in Auschwitz .. We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.
The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.
And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.
They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime.
Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.
And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition.
We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.
What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe …

She was sick of the constant mannikin-ish leaning of the three holy pillars: Reagan, Israel, abortion. She should have said, “How many Jews to these f–ing idiots think there is in the USA?” But would that have been different?

Her emphasis was not anti-semitic or anti-Zionist but anti-mannikin GOP candidates.
