U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron vowed on Wednesday to shut down madrassas, or Islamic primary schools, which teach their students intolerance and spread antisemitism.

During a comprehensive policy speech at the Conservative Party conference five months into his second premiership, Cameron stressed the right of religious communities to private education as part of a broader, “multi-racial” British society.

“Let me be clear: there is nothing wrong with children learning about their faith, whether it’s at madrassas, Sunday schools or Jewish yeshivas,” he said. “But in some madrassas we’ve got children being taught that they shouldn’t mix with people of other religions; being beaten; swallowing conspiracy theories about Jewish people.”

“These children should be having their minds opened, their horizons broadened — not having their heads filled with poison and their hearts filled with hate. So I can announce this today: If an institution is teaching children intensively, then whatever its religion, we will, like any other school, make it register so it can be inspected,” he said.

BBC Journalist Mistakenly Taken for Jewish Taunted by British Intellectual Commanding She ‘Get Back in the Oven’

A BBC journalist mistakenly identified as a Jew was told at a recent high-end London event to “get back in...

“And be in no doubt: if you are teaching intolerance, we will shut you down,” he said.

Cameron — who, according to some polls, is supported by the majority of Britain’s Jews — made tackling antisemitism a priority in the campaign that led him to a strong victory in May’s general election, at one point telling The Atlantic that he would be  “heartbroken” if “people in the Jewish community thought that Britain was no longer a safe place for them.”

Several reports have indicated a rising trend of antisemitism in Europe, both from right-wing nationalists — such as the widely popular Jobbik Party in Hungary — and disenfranchised and impoverished Muslim immigrants living in slum neighborhoods in France, Germany and the U.K., where 318 antisemitic attacks were reported in 2014.

The European Commission last week decided to designate coordinators for antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred in a new effort to combat the growing intolerance across the European continent.

This is not a new problem. Years back the UK Schools Inspectorate visited a school in London run by Saudi Arabia, and found textbooks that claimed Jews and Christians were descended from monkeys and pigs — and this did not involve Darwin! Asked to explain, the headteacher said that the school skipped that chapter!!! It made the national media, ‘lessons were learnt’ and changes were made quickly to avoid prosecution. More recently there was the Birmingham ‘Trojan Horse’ episode, but that’s another story.

I don’t know if what he is saying is true or not. I read some of the comments and it looks as if people do not believe him. I really do not know enough about it but, if he is telling the truth…I sure am proud of him for taking a strong stance. I wish the US would, but, that will never happen; not with a Socialist Muslim who belongs to the Muslim Brotherhood.
He wouldn’t turn on his faithful evil followers for anything. How sad…we sure do need some strong people, strong beliefs, good more strong believes.

No one believes a word that ‘Cast Iron Dave Cameron’ says. The only reason he got re-elected was that the opposition was worse. Cameron loves Islam.

  • It is about time that one Prime Minister in Europe is voicing and openly recognizing the threat that the Muslim can and will be if not stopped on time. There has to be a zero tolerance when it come to antisemitism!!!

With Sharia Patrols walking through neighborhoods and the koran being read in public schools, it would seem that Cameron’s wish to suppress anti-Semitism and violence against Jews in Britain may be just a bit late. These types of issues have been building for years and are fairly entrenched, so good luck trying to put the genie back into the bottle.

Cameron wants to close anti Jewish conspiracy theory anti
    Semitic Jewish hating schools???

He should start first and for most with his Sharia compliant Home and Foreign Office.

  • It is about time that Europe wakens up to the danger of our way of life and our civilization in danger.
teaching extremism is very dangerous and does not serve any purpose for a better life for everybody.

  • Finally on the right direction.

Good. As a American (retired Army) who lives in Germany, I believe Germany as well as Europe, is going to have a big problem sometime in the future. What is being taught in these schools? How many “refugees” entering Europe have radical/extremist beliefs? How many “refugees” will be recruited by groups already in Europe?

Many questions, few, if any, answers.

  • Go, Mr Cameron! I’m learning respect for you.

If Cameron is serious about going after Islamic intolerance, — and there is good reason to doubt that he is serious –, then he will have to close down not only the Islamic schools, but all of the mosques, too, because rigid and violent intolerance is inherent in Islam. Allah and Muhammad command Moslems to make war against non-Moslems. This sounds pretty intolerant to me.The Koran (Allah’s literal word) and Muhammad’s sayings are taught and preached in every mosque.

Cameron would be right to think Jews are no longer safe in UK & Europe at large. The last few years back proves this fact. Incitement in schools, madrasess & Mosques are a mater of course. The Koran is been taught , the Koran is preaching hatred of Jews & non Jews. Cameron will have a very hard time to clean up the Muslim educational act. The Muslims have carved their own niches in the UK & Europe and are firmly ensconced to change. Islamophobia & Professional victimhood is a hard act to follow as long as the law of the land is being ignored by “poor” defensles folk.

Hopefully he will have these schools fully monitored, and if found in the slightest instant that they were / are brainwashing their pupils they must be shut down immediately.

There is one think preaching the fact, and the other is tto act on your threats.

“and disenfranchised and impoverished Muslim immigrants living in slum neighborhoods in France, Germany and the U.K., where 318 antisemitic attacks were reported in 2014.”

Sounds like the Staff are attempting to justify the attacks… oh the poor disenfranchised muslims.. it’s the governments fault, it’s the white peoples fault, it’s every nonmuslims fault that muslims are attacking and murdering Jews…. Let’s all hang our heads in shame, shall we?

  • marlene

    When, Cameron, when?

  • Very good decisaon by PM Cameron. If the Moslem gets any worse in Europe, they should start deporting them.
