A recent headline in the UK Guardian about a terrorist attack against Israelis drew the ire or a local media watchdog for leading with the death of the Palestinian assailant.

The Guardian headline ran: “Palestinian shot dead at Damascus gate in Jerusalem after stabbing Israeli guard.”

The article itself, about an incident on Sunday, did begin with the knife attacker seriously wounding an Israeli border policeman before being shot dead, but the text of the article itself was borrowed from Agence France Presse.

Additionally, the Guardian added a sub-headline indicating the Palestinian death toll in the current wave of violence, which has mostly revolved around near-daily knifing attacks against Israelis, predominantly in the West Bank but also in central Israel.

ISIS Threatens US With Attacks in Retaliation for Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital

Islamic State threatened attacks on US soil in retaliation for the Trump administration's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital...

The Daily Mail ran a similar headline, albeit at a greater length: “Jerusalem’s streets run red with blood: Israeli police shoot dead man who stabbed border guard at Damascus Gate — the 99th Palestinian to die in latest wave of violence.” The Mail coverage, however, was not borrowed from the AFP story.

“You’d be hard pressed to find an example of terror in the world – outside of Israel – where mainstream media outlets prioritize the fate of the perpetrators over that of their victims,” said watchdog UK Media Watch.

“Not only did Guardian editors lead with the death of the terrorists in the headline, they added a strap line which focused on the number of Palestinians killed in ‘the latest wave of violence,’ said the report.

Last week, The Algemeiner reported on two additional headlines, from Euro News and the San Francisco Chronicle, highlighting the Palestinian deaths in the latest surge of terror attacks against Israelis.

The Guardian is a nasty anti-Semitic anti-Israel anti Zionist anti everything Trashy Rag,it employs B grade hacks to write for it.They lie they exaggerate and they cheat. They promote palestinian terror.A nepotistic site that attracts some of lowest of the low bottom feeders anti-Semitic posters. You have to wonder who are worse the guys who run this cesspit or their posters.

UKistan should have a new flag; the Union Jack with a Swastika and the izslimic symbol superimposed over it to represent the political leanings.

    This is nothing new
Norwegian media, incl state owned Norwegian Broadcasting Corp is presenting this kind of news the same way every day.

I’m really surprised at UK Media Watch – usually these organizations pander to the Palestinian terrorists or their Islamist supporters. If this report is true then one can say “well done” and congratulations! But the upshot of the story is that the “Guardian” is not going to change its vicious ant-Israel attitude any time soon.

How is it that Islam has also been able to take over the free press of the world to suit its purposes?? Islam and Muslims are a disease that needs tons of Penicillin to cure.

There is something seriously wrong in these times. George Orwell wasn’t writing fiction, he was writing future history. Shocking.

The Grauniad (As the Guardian used to be called) often presents opinion as fact, the only people who read it are the ones who want to believe it.

The level of anti-semitism by those on the political left in Europe never ceases to amaze me. They do not care how many innocent Israelis died, and that includes little children.

The Guardian and other mainstream press, regularly and gauges in moral equivalency between the terrorists of Hamas and Hezbollah, which groups continually and purposefully target civilians in schools, Apartments, restaurants, theaters, etc., and the IDF which goes so far as to drop leaflets in areas they’re going to strike.

Israeli military makes hundreds and hundreds of phone calls to tell people to get out of buildings they’re going to bomb before the military makes those strikes; no other military on the planet goes that far to preclude innocent civilians from losing their lives.

Despite these facts The Guardian, British NGOs, continental European NGOs, and even the EU itself continue to make this false moral equivalency argument between the actions of the IDF and the Muslim terrorists.

Where the cowards at The Guardian to see their loved ones endangered by rockets missiles and mortars from Hamas and Hezbollah being fired at their homes and their children schools, not only would the headlines be different and actually accurate, the reporting would be honest, which would be a nice change of pace.

  • Of course. The world has a double standard when it comes to Jews. Israelis are apparently expected to say, “thank you for stabbing us. May we shoot you for doing it?”
    The hypocrisy is beyond belief.

“Seriously wounded Israeli guard stabbed by palestinian who was then shot dead at Damascus Gate in Jerusalem.” “Jerusalem streets run red with the blood of Israeli victims of brutal attacks by palestinians.” “Israeli police shoot dead palestinian who stabbed Border Guard at Damascus Gate – the Xth Israeli to suffer serious wounds in the latest wave of palestinian violence against Israelis, also killing X, including children.” I’m so glad there’s a Watchdog, because articles, even in America, always slant the blame for palestinian stabbings, bombings, murders on Israel and barely mention the injured and dead. The only way i’d like to see an article lead with the palestinian perpetrator is “Palestinian shot dead after [whatever], making this the Xth Israel seriously wounded by these terrorists.”

Typical of anti-Semites–they love Jews being murdered–but when it comes to killing the would be murderers–they hate that.

How many Muslims have editorial control at the UK Guardian. Just wondering!
