An Iranian official pledged his country’s continued support for anti-Israel terrorism, state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported on Tuesday.

Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli made his remarks during a meeting in Damascus with Syrian Parliament Speaker Jihad al-Laham. Fazli said that supporting the “resistance” in fighting Israel was a priority for Tehran. He commented that Syria had earned Tehran’s unlimited support, because it shared this enmity towards the Jewish state.

Fazli added a call to combine Syrian and Iranian efforts in order to “defeat the enemies [i.e. Israel] and help the World of Islam.”
