Hamas was mocked after a “locally produced tank” it boasted was proven to be a fake, Israeli Arabic-language news site Al-Masdar reported on Monday.
Ofir Gendelman, Arabic media spokesman at the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, pointed out that the so-called “tank” was actually a wooden replica placed on top of a vehicle whose wheels were visible on the bottom.

Fatah joined in the criticism, creating a poster saying Hamas was trying to get its supporters exited with “sewer pipes and fiber glass.”

The tank – resembling an Israeli Merkava –  was unveiled by Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida during a recent funeral for the group’s operatives, claiming it was captured from the IDF during Operation Protective Edge, the 2014 war in Gaza.
