The red bracelet actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been sporting around his wrist recently has nothing to do with Kabbalah, the Jewish mystical doctrine popular among many celebrities, the New York Post‘s Page Six revealed on Wednesday.
The Oscar nominee was spotted wearing the red bracelet during a meeting with Pope Francis on Jan. 28, at the SAG Awards two days later and during a question and answer session for his latest film The Revenant in December.
Sources told Page Six that the red bracelet – often worn by Kabbalah adherents, such as Madonna – was in fact acquired in November during a visit to Cambodia with close friend Lukas Haas. The bracelets, popular among tourists, are handed out by local monks in return for donations. They are believed to bring good luck.
