London’s First Muslim Mayor to Attend Ceremony Marking Holocaust Remembrance Day

A day after being sworn into office, London’s new mayor, Sadiq Khan will attend the city’s main commemoration ceremony for Yom HaShoah (Holocaust remembrance day) on Sunday, The Times of Israel news site reports.

Quoting the UK based Jewish News, the report said that Israeli Ambassador Mark Regev, UK Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, who will both speak at the event, as well as a number of other notable persons in the Jewish community will also attend the ceremony which last year drew 5,000 people.
