JNS.org – Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) will showcase its cutting-edge drones and other strategic defense systems at Aero India 2017 — the world’s second-largest air show — in Bangalore, India, Feb. 14-18.
According to a statement on IAI’s website, the Jewish state’s largest aerospace and defense company will showcase its newest systems, with an emphasis on long- and medium-range surface-to-air missile defense systems and unmanned combat aerial systems, including the Heron TP-XP drone and the Bird Eye tactical UAV, which enable a wide variety of intelligence-gathering capabilities.
IAI will also present its strategic radar and satellite communication systems; electro-optical systems using high-definition technology; modular, compact command and surveillance systems; a variety of dynamic-platform mission aircraft for intelligence missions; and cybertechnology. The company said it expects to expand its collaboration with leading Indian companies to integrate strategic state-of-the-art systems for the Indian Defense Ministry. IAI’s contracts in India amounted to $500 million in 2016.
“India is one of IAI’s leading markets. This important market is characterized by long-term collaboration, joint development and production, technology transfer, and technical support over many years,” IAI CEO Joseph Weiss said.
