‘Scandal’ Co-Star Called ‘Jew Rat,’ ‘Kike’ on Social Media After Cursing Oscar-Winning Director Mel Gibson, Infamous for Antisemitic Rant

The Jewish actor who plays David Rosen in the hit ABC series “Scandal” was called a “Jew rat,” “Kike” and “Jew fa**ot” on Twitter Sunday night for cursing out director Mel Gibson, whose latest film took home two wins at the 2017 Academy Awards.
Joshua Malina became the target of the social media onslaught after tweeting, “F*** Mel Gibson” when “Hacksaw Ridge,” directed by the latter — who is infamous for launching into an antisemitic rant in 2006 when stopped for drunk driving in LA — won Film Editing and Sound Mixing Oscars.
One Gibson fan told Malina that he should keep “art and ideology” separate, to which the actor replied, “That’s why I tweeted ‘F*** Mel Gibson’ rather than ‘F*** Hacksaw Ridge.'”
Another Twitter user admonished Malina saying that, as a Jew, he “should have a better sense of forgiveness.”
Malina responded, “I don’t need Jew lessons from you, thanks. The problem is that you are more concerned about my use of the word ‘f***’ than misogyny, homophobia, abuse, racism and antisemitism.”
