Trump Spokesman Mocked at White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner Over Holocaust Remarks

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s recent controversial remarks about the Holocaust were mocked on Saturday by the headline comedian at a major media gathering in Washington, DC.
Addressing the annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner (WHCAD) at the Washington Hilton — which President Donald Trump chose not to attend this year — “The Daily Show” correspondent Hasan Minhaj said, “Sean Spicer’s been doing PR since 1999. He’s been doing his job for 18 years, and somehow after 18 years his go-to move when you ask him a tough question is denying the Holocaust. That is insane. How many people do you know that can turn a press briefing into a full-on Mel Gibson traffic stop? Only the Spice-man. Only the Spice-man.”
Minhaj was referring to Spicer’s April 11 comments in which he said Nazi leader Adolf Hitler “didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons” — overlooking the gas chambers used to kill millions of Jews at concentration camps, which Spicer blandly called “Holocaust centers.”
Spicer later apologized for his statements.
