JNS.org – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday approved the construction of 3,800 new homes in Judea and Samaria.
The Judea and Samaria Planning and Zoning Committee is scheduled to convene next week to discuss the projects and promote the necessary permits for building thousands of homes across the area, including in the communities of Hebron, Beit El and Har Bracha, as well as in the Jerusalem suburbs of Ma’ale Adumim and Givat Ze’ev.
Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, Netanyahu had met with the heads of Judea and Samaria’s regional councils and informed them he plans to promote construction in and around existing settlements, as agreed with the US at the onset of the Trump administration. Since the matter has been discussed between Jerusalem and Washington in advance, Israel does not expect the White House to condemn the settlement construction, as it has in the past.
