At Meeting With Top European Diplomat, Knesset Speaker Slams Palestinian Leader for ‘Doublespeak’
by Algemeiner Staff
Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein met on Tuesday in Brussels with European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini and urged her to condemn recent vitriolic anti-Israel statements made by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
“We must pay attention to the ‘doublespeak’ of Abbas, who talks one way in English and another in Arabic,” Edelstein tweeted.

Later on Tuesday, Edelstein addressed the Belgian Parliament to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which falls this coming Saturday.
Earlier this week, Mogherini met with Abbas and assured him that the EU supported his ambition to establish the capital of a future Palestinian state in eastern Jerusalem.
