President Donald Trump will not travel to Israel for the opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem, the White House said on Monday.
Instead, the American delegation at the May 14 event will include Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, as well as Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and daughter Ivanka Trump, who work as advisers to the president in the White House.
The delegation will be led by Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan. US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and Trump’s special representative for international negotiations, Jason Greenblatt, will also attend the opening.
