Video footage has emerged of the pursuit and arrest of a Palestinian man in the northern city of Afula after he stabbed an 18-year-old Israeli woman on Monday morning in a suspected terrorist attack.
The victim — identified as high school student Shuva Malka from nearby Migdal Haemek — remained hospitalized late Monday at Haemek Medical Center in serious, but stable, condition.
“God made a great miracle for us [that she is alive] and we hope she comes out of this in peace, and we thank everyone who is praying for her,” Malka’s mother told reporters outside the hospital.
The attacker was a Palestinian man in his 20s from the West Bank city of Jenin who had entered Israel illegally. He was shot in the leg by police as he tried to flee the scene of the stabbing.
