Violent riots protesting Hamas’ use of funds gathered for aid to the Gaza Strip took place on Thursday, with protesters beaten by the ruling terror group’s security forces and live rounds used.
In response to the protests, Ofir Gendelman, the Israeli prime minister’s Arabic media spokesman, tweeted, “Today it became clear for the umpteenth time Hamas is a terrorist gang that kidnapped 2 million Palestinians & oppresses them. Thousands of Gazans protested today against it.”
“Hamas leaders have everything while Gazans have nothing. And only Hamas is to blame for that,” he added.

According to Israel’s Channel 2, the protests took place in the cities of Jabalia and Deir al-Balah. They are part of several ongoing protests by various factions in the Strip against the ruling Hamas terror group.
Hamas forces fired live rounds into the air in an attempt to disperse the rioters, and there were reportedly several wounded at the scene. They also confiscated the smartphones of journalists who had come to report on the incidents.
According to the Channel 2 report, the protests were apparently motivated by the poor living conditions in the Strip and the belief that Hamas has diverted aid funds for its own purposes.
The Twitter feed GazaLive featured videos taken at the protests. One of them shows Hamas forces cornering protesters in an alley and beating them with batons.

Another video features residents of the area milling around a small fire while gunfire can be heard in the background.
