Yityish “Titi” Aynaw, the first Black woman to be crowned Miss Israel, lambasted the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement for not condemning Hamas’ rampage against Israeli civilians while loudly supporting the Palestinians.

“I think they are hypocrites,” Aynaw, who was a lieutenant in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), said during an appearance on Fox News on Wednesday. “Because if you support human rights, you are supposed to stand with Israel, to say something about it. For me, they don’t represent ‘Black Lives Matters.’ They don’t care.”

Aynaw recently slammed BLM in Instagram posts and called for the Black community around the world to show solidarity with Israel. She said “Hamas is ISIS” and recalled how BLM supporters shouted the slogan “I can’t breathe” after George Floyd died in the US in 2020, saying that people should “pray for Israel because we can’t breathe.”

The former Miss Israel also noted that the BLM Chicago organization last week on social media posted the slogan “I stand with Palestine” below an image of a hang-glider and a Palestinian flag following Hamas’ Oct. 7 invasion of Israel earlier. Some Hamas terrorists who infiltrated Israel did so with hang-gliders before murdering Israeli civilians. BLM Chicago said afterwards that it wasn’t proud of the graphic but added, “We stand with Palestine & the people who will do what they must to live free.”

BLM’s Los Angeles chapter and Black Lives Matter Grassroots also posted messages on social media only showing solidarity with the Palestinians affected by the ongoing war.

“For them [BLM] not saying anything about the 1,400 civilians who were murdered by Hamas, about women who were raped by the terrorists when they heard that [Hamas is] slaughtering babies in Israel — they say they care about black people [and] human rights, [but] what about my rights as a black woman in Israel?” Aynaw asked. “In Israel, there is a huge Black Jewish community. I was shocked by their response that they didn’t say anything about this and it’s very sad.”

Discussing the more than 200 hostages that Hamas took from Israel back to the Gaza Strip, Aynaw added, “I am a mother, I know you are a father too. Can you imagine that somebody will come to your house, and go to your child’s bedroom and burn them alive? How can the world be OK with this? How can the world support this kind of evil? This is what I don’t understand.”

During her interview, the former Miss Israel also called Hamas “the new Nazis and blood thirsty monsters.” When asked if she would return to the IDF to help Israel fight against Hamas, she replied, “I will always do what my country needs me to do. I will protect my country, and I will protect my son.”
