Pop Mizrahi singer Sasson Ifram Shaulov, most well known for his uplifting song “Tamid Ohev Oti” (“Always Loves Me”) which has become an anthem in Israel, is performing at a series of concerts in the United States this month in New York, Florida, and California.

The 22-year-old Israeli-Kavkazi singer, who was born in Haifa but is now based in Tel Aviv, performed a sold-out concert on Monday night at The Town Hall in New York City before traveling to Florida, where he will perform on Thursday night at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center. He will also perform Sunday in Los Angeles at the Saban Theatre. This week is the first time that Sasson is visiting and performing in the US.

Shaulov’s album dropped three weeks ago and is titled “Tamid Samaech” (“Always Happy”). His Hebrew language song “Tamid Ohev Oti” – which is a cover of an original song written by Breslav Chassidish Rabbi Shalom Arush — was released in September 2024 and is produced by Eli Keshet and Shai Reuveni. It soared to the top of radio station charts in Israel for more than three months when it first debuted and has racked up more than 30 million views on YouTube. It has become a sensation in Israel, bringing joy, optimism, and inspiration to Israelis amid the country’s ongoing war against Hamas terrorists, after their deadly rampage across southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.

In “Tamid Ohev Oti,” Shaulov sings about his relationship with God and how it will bring better days ahead. In the first verse, Shaulov says Hashem, “our father,” is always proud of him, sees the good in him, and knows that he wants to be good, despite the fact that he lacks a few prayers. In the chorus, Shaulov sings: “Hashem always loves me, and always has good things for me.” He also sings about life getting “even better, even better,” repeating it several times, as well as happiness. “Livelihood, wealth, matches for the unmarried, and complete health. A beautiful, happy life, year after year,” he says.
