US Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) likened Islamic extremists to Nazis in his Sunday address at the 2015 American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference in Washington DC.
“I see radical Islam running wild in the Mideast. It is radical Islam and if you don’t admit that you’ll never defeat it,” he told a packed auditorium of AIPAC delegates. “This is a war against humanity. They want a master religion just as the Nazis wanted a master race. That’s what this is about. And they will kill, and imprison and enslave those who are different.”
“They will lose,” he added. “The only question is how many must die before that day comes.”
Senator Graham emphasized that it is in America’s national security interests to stop “this barbaric behavior before it gets stronger.” Each day that nothing is done, the threat of radical Islam comes closer to American soil, he said.
“Every day there are more fighters going into Iraq and Syria with Western passports. That’s the day they can come back here and hit us,” he said. “This is our war too. This is the war of good people against evil and there is only one outcome that is acceptable. They lose; we win.”
