The Islamic State’s Al-Furqan Media, the terrorist group’s propaganda outlet, has broadcast a video purporting to show the execution of an alleged “Mossad spy.” A clip of the video, posted on Twitter, ends with the threat: “We are looking towards Jerusalem.”
Activist group Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently, an anti-ISIS group, had previously warned on Twitter that Al-Furqan media would broadcast the video following up from an interview with the captured 19-year old Muhammad Said Ismail Musallam, an Israeli-Arab, that appeared in their latest edition of Dabiq Magazine, Issue No. 7.
The execution footage shows Musallam sitting in a room wearing an orange jumpsuit, talking about his recruitment by Israeli intelligence, and how his father and brother had encouraged him to join. After that, it shows Musallam being escorted to an open field and being executed by a young boy.
The boy, wearing a military uniform stands before Musallam, and shoots him in the head after shouting “Allahu Akbar!”

The UK’s Daily Mail reported that Musallam was captured by ISIS in Syria after traveling to the country sometime in November. His parents claim he left home to join ISIS, but the group claims he is an Israeli spy that was recruited by a Jewish neighbor in Israel.
Musallam is a native of the eastern parts of Israel’s capital, Jerusalem.
In the prior interview which he gave to Dabiq, Musallam said that he was recruited by Mossad to join ISIS in order to report to the Israelis on its weapons caches, bases, and Palestinian recruitment efforts.
He added that despite his extensive training by the Mossad, he did not act like a typical muhajer, a term ISIS uses for foreigners who move to the territory held by the terrorist group. His odd behavior led to his discovery, and he said in his Dabiq interview that, “I say to all those who want to spy on the Islamic State, don’t think that you’re so smart and that you can deceive the Islamic State. You won’t succeed at all.”
His father has denied that Musallam was an Israeli spy, saying that he left Israel out of conviction in ISIS’ mission and that he wanted to join the terrorist group. His father told Haaretz, “He is not a spy, he went over on his own – [ISIS] recruited him on the internet…he is not connected with the Mossad, the Shin Bet security services or anyone else.”
One Israeli official echoed Musallam’s father, saying that the young man traveled to Turkey on October 24 to fight for ISIS in Syria. “He went on his own initiative, without his family’s knowledge,” the official said, adding that his statement could be understood as a denial that Musallam was an Israeli spy.
