An Orthodox Jewish boy from Sydney who designed and created a portable, makeshift house for homeless people appeared as a guest on Australia’s “Today” show on Wednesday.

The morning program, which posted a video of the segment on Facebook, asked 10-year-old Aryeh about the home, which he created with the help of his teacher, Colin May, who also appeared on the show. The pair explained how the structure allows sunlight to enter through the roof, works with solar energy and features a water catchment system. The model, which was built using 100 percent recyclable materials, is structured around a single bed on wheels.

Aryeh said it took him about a week to construct the portable home and the total cost of the project was $200.
