Beersheba Mayor Rubik Danilovich said Sunday that southern Israel is in the midst of a war of attrition, this according to Ynet.
The comments came as the IDF reported 45 rockets hitting the region Sunday alone. In total the IDF reported 77 rockets being fired from Gaza into Israel since Saturday.
Danilovich is expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday.
Earlier the IDF released the below photo on their Twitter page of the Iron Dome defense system in action. One of the two rockets the IDF reported it as having intercepted Sunday was headed for Beersheba.
