Jewish Population on Campus
While historically affiliated with the United Methodist Church, Boston University has a large and diverse Jewish community. After several years of low attendance and staff resignations, the campus Hillel has hired a new rabbi and expanded its offerings, and is — in the words of a Boston Globe correspondent from 2016 — "in the midst of a renaissance.” Jewish students are also well served by the local Chabad and Aish Campus Boston, as well as a kosher dining program and weekly Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox religious services. However, the school does have an active SJP group, and antisemitic flyers have been found on campus several times in recent years. (Photo credit: Wikipedia.)
