Jewish Population on Campus
Approximately 12 percent of undergraduates are Jewish at Harvard University, which offers a kosher dining hall and religious services for Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox students. Hillel leads two Birthright trips every year and supports a variety of student groups — from the Krav Maga and Jewish baking clubs to the RecKlez Klezmer band. Harvard Chabad similarly works to enrich student life with a variety of programming, including Shabbat dinners, weekly classes, and a Women’s Circle. In April, the school hosted its first-ever Israel Summit, drawing over 400 individuals to panels on the Jewish state's achievements. Notably, Harvard does also have an active Palestine Solidarity Committee, which organizes an annual "Israeli Apartheid Week" campaign and hosted BDS co-founder Omar Barghouti on campus in April 2017.
