At the University of Washington, the Student Workers Union passed a BDS resolution, and the virulently anti-Israel Students United for Palestinian Equal Rights (SUPER) group continues to push for divestment from Israel on campus. In 2016, SUPER organized an Israel Apartheid Week -- dubbed as part of a "Palestine Cultural Festival." The program included rallies and panels demonizing and delegitimizing Israel, referring to Jews in the country as colonialists who stole the land. Recently, scorched pages from a book by famed German-Jewish poet Heinrich Heine -- who wrote, "Where they burn books, they will also ultimately burn people" -- were left scattered outside the university's Hillel building.
