The Portland State University student senate passed a resolution -- by a landslide vote -- calling on the school to divest from companies that are affiliated with or do business in Israel. The motion claimed that "the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land has been entrenched since 1948," and some who spoke in favor of the resolution explicitly stated, “Israel is apartheid.” PSU's chapter of Students United for Palestinian Equal Rights (SUPER) holds frequent anti-Israel events, which have included speakers such as international BDS leader Omar Barghouti and Remi Kanazi, a Palestinian poet and activist. SUPER held an "Emergency Rally for Rasmea Odeh," in support of the Palestinian terrorist currently facing naturalization fraud charges in the US for not divulging to immigration officials that she was convicted of murder in Israel. Documentary filmmaker Ami Horowitz reported having disturbing success with PSU students, when he pretended to collect money on campus for the faux organization “American Friends of Hamas.” (Photo credit: Wikipedia.)
