Ben Tal Ganancia is the CEO of El Al, Israel's national airline. Throughout 2024, El Al has provided a vital airlink to Israel for hundreds of thousands of passengers as other airlines canceled flights to the Jewish state en masse, following the outbreak of the war against Hamas in Gaza in the wake of the Iran-backed terrorist organization's atrocities of Oct. 7, 2023. In August 2024, as passenger concern over the price of fares to Israel mounted, the airline agreed to fix the prices of tickets to four destinations — Larnaca, Athens, Vienna, and Dubai — that will act as hubs to and from Israel. Among those protesting the decision of other airlines to suspend their flights, increasing the demand pressure on El Al, was New York Congressman Richie Torres, who stated: "The suspension has been so prolonged and so pervasive that El Al, an Israeli airline, has become the sole carrier offering direct flights from America to Israel," the pro-Israel legislator wrote.
