Now in his 90s, the Australian-born media magnate Rupert Murdoch sits at the helm of an empire that owns newspapers, publishers, broadcasters, and movie studios in the US, Australia, and the UK, among other countries. Always a stalwart supporter of Israel, Murdoch has long backed pro-Israel advocacy, depicting the movement to boycott the Jewish state as an integral component of the "ongoing war against the Jews" as far back as 2010. In December 2024, a few days after the Adass Israel Synagogue was destroyed in an antisemitic terrorist arson attack, Murdoch visited the house of worship, founded by survivors of the Holocaust, in an act of solidarity. In an interview with The Australian, Murdoch denounced the attack on the synagogue as "evil" and said he had been "deeply moved" by what he saw. "It was important to pay our respects and show solidarity with the Jewish community after such an appalling terror attack on a place of worship," he declared.
