Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney has released a Rosh Hashana video message in which he recalls his recent trip to Israel, highlights the strength of America’s relationship with Israel, and praises the contributions of the U.S. Jewish community to the country.
“I recently had the privilege of returning to Jerusalem for a few days and during that trip I was reminded once again what a remarkable country has emerged in 64 short years,” he says, stressing that “Israel is among America’s best friends and closest allies in the world.”
In the video Romney promises that “A free and strong America will always stand with a free and strong Israel.”
Referring to the Jewish community of the United States, the former Governor offered words of praise saying, “the Jewish community has helped build our economy, helped defend our freedoms and helped earn our special place in history.”
Ending on a personal note, Romney says, “It is Anne and my’s sincere wish that you have a sweet new year.”
