Some lucky audience members got a special surprise last Monday night during a benefit to fight addiction: Jerry Seinfeld doing stand-up.
The Gregg’s Gift Comedy Night was being held at Gotham Comedy Club in support of the Gregg R. Grossman Endowed Scholarship Fund when Seinfeld popped in for a few minutes to perform.
“We were allowed to put in a list of comedians [associated with the comedy club] who we would like to have and I put Jerry Seinfeld at the top,” said Susan Zilberman, who co-founded Gregg’s Gift after her son Gregg passed away in 2008. Mrs. Zilberman said she had no expectation that Seinfeld would actually show. “I was told that he would be on the west coast.” When he came out it was a complete surprise.” Everybody gasped and said ‘Uhhh, is that Jerry Seinfeld?’ The famous comedian performed for a few minutes and then stayed around to watch pal Colin Quinn perform. “He was just so nice,” Zilberman told The Algemeiner.
